SeaRoc Group’s Senior GIS Analyst Selected to Present at Esri UK Annual Conference
Senior GIS Analyst and Developer at SeaRoc Group, Amanda Forbes, has been selected as a presenter at the Esri UK Conference on 22nd May 2018.
The annual conference is the UK’s premier GIS event, bringing together over 2,500 GIS professionals from a wide range of industries. Amanda will be delivering a presentation as part of the Analytical Insights Agenda on the topic of ‘Using Geophysical Data Analysis to Monitor Offshore Assets’.
Since joining SeaRoc Group in 2012, Amanda has worked with a number of offshore wind farm operators, providing GIS analysis, data management and web mapping to support critical decision making, manage risks and minimise potential impacts to the seabed.
Utilising Esri’s ArcGIS software, Amanda’s work identifies where the seabed is shifting, calculates the rate of change and reveals where future seabed changes may destabilise or damage cables and turbines.
“I’m honoured to be invited to present at the Esri UK conference – it’s a great opportunity to contribute to the event and share the work that we do to support the production of renewable energy. My presentation will demonstrate importance of knowing the geographic relationship between assets and a dynamically changing environment, and how managing the data through ArcGIS provides a holistic overview of the Offshore Wind Farm.”
