SeaRoc's 10:10 CommitmentSince signing up to the 1010 campaign SeaRoc has implemented a number of initiatives to help reduce our carbon footprint. To be able to provide some measurable data with which to evaluate ourselves against we have been recording the electricity meter readings, and waste and recycling volumes, in our Brighton offices since 02 November 2009. This data will be used as a baseline for us to try and improve against into the future. In the mean time, SeaRoc’s “Green Team” has implemented an Energy Efficiency Strategy. This incorporated creating staff awareness of measures that could be undertaken at work to help reduce electricity consumption, and the creation of a monthly and annual checklist to identify areas where improvements in office operations and design can be made. Recent improvements have been; removing covers from office radiators, and replacing the bottled water cooler with an inbuilt water filter. SeaRoc continue to identify areas in our daily operations and services where we can reduce our carbon footprint and keeping staff aware of the ways they can help in the office and at home.
