Click here to zoomSeaPlanner provide GIS, CAD and data management support for nPower Renewable's Rhyl Flats project. This includes providing 24 hour turnaround on as-laid information direct to the onsite project team. The Rhyl Flats project team uses the SeaPlanner GIS services to supply data received directly from the cable lay vessels on site and pass this onto other site vessels and project coordinators in a number of formats to aid project data dissemination and data management.

Marine Coordinators use SeaPlanner Personnel to manage project personnel. 

Specific Challenges

SeaPlanner uses vessel schemas in CAD format to check the positional accuracy of jackup vessels and barges to ensure there is a safe distance between the jackup leg and an exposed cable position. The GIS team provide onsite vessels with an exact heading calculated using the CAD software to ensure a safe jackup.

Lessons Learnt

SeaPlanner provide a range of outputs in CAD, GIS, PDF and Microsoft Excel formats to enable all users to visualise or know the whereabouts of the as-laid cables and ensure maximum safety onsite.
